Ezekiel Temias Kirchner

For those who don’t know Ezekiel was named after the prophet in the Bible – the name means, “the Lord will strengthen”. His middle name, Temias, was made up by Kevin. Kevin recently found in scripture a similar name. Mark 10:46 refers to a man named “Timeaus”. Kevin found that the name means, “honor”. We truly believe that the Lord has already and will continue to fulfill the meaning of Ezekiel Temias’ name everyday.
So here’s the first set of pics! Enjoy!

A Son Yet to Come

Photo Captured by: Lindsay Dunning
As most of you know Kevin and I are expecting our first child any day now. As the anticipation gets stronger and stronger everyday, Kevin and I are overwhelmed with this gift that God has chosen to bless us with.
Our church is reading the Bible in 90 days and it has been changing my life. I grew up in a Christian home so the Bible was something that was a part of our everyday lives. Yet, I have never read the Bible from beginning to end. I am now in the New Testament just finishing up the record of the ministry of Jesus Christ. As I was reading through the accounts of Christ's ministry my heart was continually reminded of our son who is yet to come into our lives. Just as the Israelites longed and anticipated the arrival of a Messiah (Jesus Christ) so Kevin and I are longing for our son's arrival.
But it goes even further that this...
Have you ever realized how amazing the gift of life is!?
It has not been until I've been pregnant and experiencing pregnancy alongside the reading of the Gospels that I have truly understood God's gift of life to us. God came to earth in the flesh so that He could be with people physically.
He desired to be intimate with people,
not just a God who demands but a God who teaches with grace and mercy.

As I realize how much God loved us and was willing to give people the opportunity to be completely cleansed of sin, and live a new life in Christ, I think of how much I want to give back to God. We can never repay God for sending Christ into the world to give us new life but the most amazing thing is that God doesn't even expect us to repay Him with anything more than love.
Even though I know this, I still want to give Him my all... I still desire to sacrifice my life as a spiritual offering for His Glory.
And here's what blows my mind...
This child within me, this child that God has gifted me with, this child that God is entrusting Kevin and I with, this child...
I desire to give back to God 100%.
I am so looking forward to the moment when our son enters the world so that Kevin and I may offer our son as a "living sacrifice" to God. What an honor, what a gift undeserved... all we can do is Praise God and give Him all the Glory for everything He has accomplished in our lives and what He is going to accomplish through our son's life.
Do we realize that this love I feel for my son is the same love that God felt towards Christ? Do we realize that this is the same love that God has for each and every one of His creations?
Do you realize this is how much He loves you?

Thank you Father for your Spirit that has made your Word alive in my life!
